In 9 Trimestern (in Teilzeit) kann man den Abschluss
Bachelor of Science degree.
Die Aufgaben als Physician Assistants sind anspruchsvoll und vielfältig. Grundsätzlich ist er aufgrund seiner Qualifikation zwischen Ärzten und Pflegepersonal einzuordnen.
Die Aufgabe des Physician Assistants besteht vor allem darin, Ärztinnen und Ärzte bei ihrer Arbeit zu entlasten und ihnen mehr Zeit für wesentliche Aufgaben wie die intensive Patientenversorgung zu verschaffen. Physician Assistants handeln auf Anordnung des Arztes und übernehmen delegierte Aufgaben, sowohl in der unmittelbaren Patientenversorgung, als auch im administrativen und organisatorischen Bereich.

Physician Assistance - Training
Die Tätigkeit des Physician Assistants ist in der Schweiz noch relativ unbekannt und auch in Deutschland verhältnismässig neu, jedoch bereits seit vielen Jahrzehnten in den USA und etwa seit 15 Jahren im niederländischen Gesundheitssystem etabliert. Damit ist der Physician Assistance der Schweiz/Deutschland ein junges, akademisches, medizinisches Berufsbild.

The title „Physician Assistance“ can currently only be acquired via a Bachelor's degree course. It is also offered in Switzerland in cooperation with German universities.
The entry requirements include three years of completed training in a healthcare profession, for example a Nursing staff HF, and/or proof of a university entrance qualification (Matura/Berufsmatura Gesundheit).
The Course content is based on that of a medical degree program. Among other things, they cover the following topics Anatomy, Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Diagnostics, Prevention and Rehabilitation, Documentation and Quality management, the basics of business administration and medical law. The focus is also on healthcare and scientific work, Project management, healthcare and reimbursement systems, as well as medical practice from patient admissions to surgery.
The study of the Physician Assistance like most degree courses, concludes with a Bachelor's thesis in the final semester. The result of the thesis must be „defended“ orally. After passing the Bachelor's thesis and all other module examinations during the course of study, students graduate with the academic degree Bachelor of Science and are allowed to Physician Assistance name.
